Two drug peddlers were arrested in Qazigund and huge quantity of contraband substances were recovered from their possession.

        Acting on an information, a police party of Police Station Qazigund intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK05E-5387 at upper bazaar Qazigund. On search of the vehicle 5000 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and 1,29,600 tablets were recovered from the possession of Abdul Qayoom Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad and Ajaz Rather residents of Ratnipora Kunzer, Tangmarg. Both the  persons were arrested and the vehicle was seized. A case FIR number 12/17 under section 8/22 NDPS has been registered against them and investigation was taken up.
